A Supreme Court Lawyer’s Thoughts on the Prohibition of Cannabis

Our scriptures say that the Truth always prevails. And, we cannot dispute it when we see what has become of Cannabis today.

A sacred plant in my country for hundreds and thousands of years, it was criminalised with the rest of the world a few decades ago and the result is there for everyone to see. Elsewhere, after spending billions of dollars in wasted enforcement, jailing thousands of people to long sentences and still witnessing a vast number of the population reaching out to it, several jurisdictions legalised it. And, then came the next wave of discovery of nearly miraculous medicmal properties of Cannabis the obvious rationale for why it was interwoven With our civilisation.

The world had declared a war on cancer at the same time that it criminalised Cannabis. Today. doctors and researches With the most credentials are thoroughly frustrated and deeply disappointed with most of our mainstream Cancer treatments; our war against Cancer has failed and more people are dying of Cancer today than they were in the 19705 when the United State Government declared a war against Cancer.

If you haven't seen a Cancer patient die in pain, you cannot really claim to know anything about Cancer at all. When you do, you will know what it means to suffer or die from Cancer.
Cannabis, however, is being quietly administered in India to hundreds of Cancer patients that are fortunate to have family members that are aware of the steady progress in the world about discovery of the medicinal marvel of Cannabis. Let us not deprive the other overwhelming majority of our Cancer patients of the nearly miraculous benefits of Cannabis by continuing to foolishly criminalise it.

Let everybody else have access to the same plant that our ancestors were so wise to treat as sacred and as a part of our lives.

Decriminalise Cannabis today and undo the never-forgivable. political-governmental crime in criminalising Cannabis in the first place.
