Bengaluru, December 6, 2017: Many of the student are getting attracted towards start-up ecosystem these days. In fact, a section of students want their first jobs in start-ups than MNCs, while another section of students dream of setting up their own start-ups than working elsewhere. So, for the first time in Bengaluru, AIMS Institute of Higher Education had organized an innovative concept-Soft Start up 1.0 where the students got a feel of starting a start-up. Interestingly, students were given a chance to market their start-up ideas with the top MNCs (who were also present in the campus). Those students, whose ideas impressed the MNC leaders, got a chance to intern in some of the top companies.
Hundreds of enthusiastic students from across the city had turned up to check their start-up skills. The main objective of Soft Startups1.0 was to create a platform for the budding developers to showcase their talent and creativity in developing computer applications. The participating students got an opportunity to exhibit their skills and expertise to solve real world problems in multidisciplinary fields and sought expert advice from IT professionals. The event also gave an opportunity for the students to seek sponsorship for their innovations or acquire internships in IT companies.
Speaking on the occasion, Suvodeep Das, a student of AIMS said, "This event provided a stable platform for the students to convert their ideas into future business. The competition winners; Risha Prakash and Saksham Srivastav students from Presidency College launched their new application called "You Safe" for the safety of children. By concerning today's humiliation happening for the kids in the society. Sunny Saxena and Manasa from Surana College won the second place by projecting their product called "Li-Fi" Light Fidelity of Internet.
Inaugurating the event, Mr Manish Tiwari, CEO, Tally Solutions said that the Soft Startups was a signature IT event conceived by the fraternity of the MCA
Department, School of Information Technology & Sciences, AIMS Institutes. The Soft Startups was a platform for students to exhibit their software development skills and identify opportunities to promote the start-up ecosystem.
Dr.Jayashree Nair, director of AIMS Internal and Quality Assurance Center said, "Students must go ahead with their ideas and innovations. To encourage the entrepreneurial skills of the students, AIMS was introducing i-academics".
AIMS COO Priyanandan Reddy said that the Indian Technology start-up landscape had evolved to become the 4th largest in the world. Since 2010, there has been a significant rise in the growth of technology start-ups and today India was home to more 5000+ technology start-ups. The Indian government had given a boost to the start-up environment by introducing a number of start-up schemes over the past few years. Each start-up scheme was missioned towards boosting the Indian start-up ecosystem. Hence, Soft Start up was an event aimed at making students aware of the start up culture.
